Voting rights at the AGM
Dear Editor,
You may perhaps be aware that many NT members are uneasy about the voting arrangements at the AGM.
Basically, there should be a level playing field for all candidates, and there is not.
This situation has arisen because two blocks have emerged – the National Trust Establishment block and the Restore Trust block. By having a preferential voting box for one, but not the other obviously gives the former an advantage. The solution is not to have any boxes. If this cannot be achieved by agreement, the remedy must be by Judicial Review.
Yours faithfully,
