I have used all my influence to persuade members I know to vote appropriately

Dear Editor,

I was Regional Information Officer for the National Trust in Northern Ireland from 1975 to 1984. Subsequently I worked for the Trust as a freelancer and co-wrote ‘Castle, Coast and Cottage’, a history and property guide to the Trust in Northern Ireland. Since then I have completed a PhD and had many posts including as a member of the Broadcasting Council for the BBC in Northern Ireland and as Vice Chairman of the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society.

My husband and I have been members since 1984 and my three children are all members.

I have to say I have been deeply concerned by some of the trends which have been informing the Trust’s decisions over policy and budget in recent years. I support the work of Restore Trust and can assure you that I have used all my influence to persuade members whom I know to vote appropriately.

Good luck. It will be very interesting.

And no matter what the voting outcome, I am sure you will have made a difference.

Thank you and best wishes,

Lyn Gallagher
