On ‘gender-neutral’ loos
Dear Editor,
Wherever I have come across ‘gender-neutral’ loos, such as in Government buildings in London, I find they simply create confusion and embarrassment. I know of no-one who prefers them, especially not women. In fact, I believe many places that have introduced them are now reverting to “Ladies and Gents”, so at least us chaps know where the urinals are, for example! And there has long been a sensible (and ‘inclusive’) third category: namely, the disabled loo.
One has to wonder who the people who dream up such “woke” and supposedly ‘virtuous’ ideas as gender-neutral loos, or indeed things like the “Rainbow badges” volunteers were obliged to wear a year or so ago, are and where they come from. I have been an NT member for most of my life and believe that organisations such as the NT, especially charities, should stick to their raison d’être and not engage in identity politics. In any case one cannot change history and it is asinine to deny reality.
