The Interim Report on
colonialism and slavery
‘I think gamma minus is probably what I’d give it… I think they got, frankly, a dud group of people to do it.’
- Sir Simon Jenkins, Chairman of the National Trust 2008-2014 on Radio 4, 30 October 2021

The Report
‘Interim Report on the Connections between Colonialism and Properties now in theCare of the National Trust,Including Links with Historic Slavery’
-
Our response
The report has serious shortcomings and is one-sided in its conclusions.
-
The Gazetteer
The Gazetteer section of the report which claims to list the Trust’s connections to historic examples of colonialism misrepresents some historic figures and omits many interesting global links with National Trust properties.
